Sketchbooks for Beginners

Working in a sketchbook is both one of the most rewarding and most intimidating ways to create visual work. Because it's such a free way of working many people find they sit in front of a blank page and never get any further!

Sketchbooks for Beginners is designed to give you a gentle push, with exercises which will help you get past the empty page, broaden your range of drawing technique, and give you new ways of working towards a finished design project.

When you sign up for the course, you will get a PDF with the complete course. You can work through the lessons at your own pace and receive feedback by email. There are also groups on Flickr and the Hand Embroidery Network where you can post your work and see what other students have done.

The course is designed to run for between six to eight weeks, but you can start at any time and work to your own schedule. Because it is an online course, you can be anywhere in the world!
