I was going to write a post looking back on my New Year’s resolutions from last year, but apparently I didn’t make any.

Seriously hand embroidery - Misericordia 2012

I know people are a bit down on resolutions, but I kind of like them. It’s a bit like a list that has a 12 month deadline and as long as you aren’t too specific or over-enthusiastic then they can give your memory a wee jog as to where you were at the end of the previous year.

So, here are mine:

  1. Make myself a regular feature at Edinburgh craft fairs. It’s rare that someone will buy something from me as an impulse purchase, so I need to be more visible so that I’m there when they’re ready to buy or commission something.
  2. Contact more press outlets so I can get my work seen more widely. (This is terrifying…)
  3. (Updated as of 24th December) Don’t delete my website at 10pm on Christmas Eve in an attempt to tidy up. (The Lovely Young Man lived up to his name and found it again..)

How about you? Do you make New Year’s resolutions (or delete things at inappropriate times)? If you’re feeling brave, you could even post your resolutions or deletions!
